Family owned in Conroe, Texas since 1971

Keeping Montgomery County cool and cozy for three generations.

Why people keep the number

Fifty five years in one county, and the reviews to show for it.

Ruud reserves Pro Partner status for contractors who hold at least a four star rating from validated homeowner reviews, and it is re-checked every year.

A Jack Gordon and Sons service van in Conroe, Texas

The truck that pulls up

Every tech wears the name that is on the van.

Most of the names on the trucks are also names at the Gordon family Sunday table. That is not a marketing line, it is the payroll. It means the person diagnosing your system has to answer for the work at a family dinner, which is a stricter review than any website.

Three generations

One job walk, fifty five years long.

The company has changed hands twice and never changed families. Each stamp below is the generation that owns that stretch of the walk, and the work behind it is theirs.

Jack Gordon, 1971

Hung his straw cowboy hat on a nail in Conroe and went to work fixing his neighbours' air conditioners. No big crew, no fancy office, just a handshake and a promise the job would be done right.

Rodger & Kirk Gordon, Second generation

Jack's sons grew up on those service calls. Rodger was on the trucks at ten and full-time at eighteen, and runs the company today alongside his brother Kirk.

Jacob, Seth & Naythan Gordon, Third generation

Jack's grandsons learned to use a manifold gauge before they learned to drive. Jacob runs the service department; Seth and Naythan are the names customers ask for by name.

What we handle

Cooling and heating, both sides of the year.

One family-owned team keeps the air conditioning and the heat running, instead of juggling separate contractors for each. We install Ruud and we repair every major brand.

  1. Comfortable

    70

    The house is holding

Below about 90 outside, a healthy system keeps up without working hard. This is the window where a tune-up is cheap and a small fault is still small.

  2. Working hard

    90

    The system stops resting

Above 90 the equipment runs long cycles and never fully catches up. Weak airflow and a dirty coil start showing as rooms that will not match the thermostat.

  3. The line

    100

    Where the call gets made

At a 100 degree heat index a marginal capacitor, a low charge or a blocked coil turns into a no-cool call. This is the day the phones do not stop, and the day VIP members get scheduled first.

  4. No margin

    110

    Nothing forgives a fault

In a Texas peak there is no headroom left in the equipment. We stay open 24 hours through it because a house that cannot shed heat is not a scheduling problem, it is a safety one.

“Free estimates and second opinions on equipment replacement. If your unit does not need replacing, we will say so.”

Open 24 hours

A breakdown in Texas heat does not wait for business hours.

We are open 24 hours, every day of the year. If the air conditioning quits at eleven at night, or the furnace will not light on the first freeze, that is exactly the call the phone is on for.

VIP maintenance

$225 a year, whole home.

Two seasonal tune-ups, front of the line when the heat breaks, member pricing on repairs and parts, and no after-hours surcharge. $185 for senior · military · first responder. Cancel any time, because we would rather earn the renewal.

Gordon and Sons were most flexible in options and getting me what I needed at a great price. Chose them, and installed next day. I couldn't be happier with their work.

This company is great! They returned my call first thing Monday morning. Set a time to come and make repairs. Texted me when and who were on their way. Showed up on time and made the repairs in a timely manner. Naythan is a professional! This will be my go to AC company whenever I need AC work.

Straight answers

The questions people actually ask.

Every brand. Our technicians diagnose and repair air conditioners, furnaces and heat pumps from all major manufacturers. We install Ruud as a Ruud Pro Partner, but a repair visit never requires you to own a particular brand.

Yes. We are open 24 hours, every day of the year. A breakdown in Texas heat or a sudden winter freeze does not wait for business hours, so neither do we. Call (281) 292-3398 and a Gordon technician responds.

No. Duct cleaning is one service we do not offer, and we would rather tell you that up front than sell you something outside our expertise. What we do provide is whole-home indoor air quality work, from better filtration to air purification.

Nothing. Estimates and second opinions on equipment replacement are free. If another company has told you the system needs replacing and you want that checked, that is exactly the call we want.

Both. We size, install and service equipment for homes, storefronts and small offices across Montgomery County. Our general manager helped Ruud develop a commercial rooftop equipment line, so larger systems are well within our wheelhouse.

Two seasonal tune-ups a year, priority scheduling on the hottest days, member pricing on repairs and parts, and no after-hours surcharges. It is $225 a year for the whole home, or $185 for seniors, military and first responders. Cancel any time.

Do it right

Four words Jack left the company.

Show up when we say we will. Tell you the truth even when it is cheaper. No high pressure, ever. That is the whole standard, and it is still the one the third generation works to.
